« on: January 10, 2014, 09:11:50 AM »

WELCOME TO THE WESTERN SELECTS BRICK PROGRAM

The Edmonton Brick Tournament takes place every summer over the July 4th weekend at the West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, Canada whose unique ice rink is centered in one of the largest shopping facilities in the world.  It has become the most prestigious hockey event for players at the 10 & under age level since the tournament began in 1990.  All-Star Teams from all over the North American continent attend this renowned summer event which offers many young promising hockey players and their parents a first opportunity to compete in an international super elite AAA environment.

THE WESTERN SELECTS BRICK REGION
The Western Selects Brick Region is the Pacific and Rocky Mountain Districts: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington.  All players in the above mentioned states are eligible to participate as "local" players. Any players residing outside of these states are not eligible to be rostered on the team.  We no longer are eligible to take import players.  All candidates must attend pre-tryout skates to be evaluated by one of our Regional Alliance Organizations in their local region.  If you live in Colorado, you would attend skates in the Denver area.  If you live in Texas or Oklahoma, you attend in Dallas.  If you live in Arizona, you attend in Phoenix. If you live in Nevada, you attend in Las Vegas. If you live in Alaska, you will attend in Anchorage. If you live in Washington you will attend in the Seattle area.  All others can attend skates in any of the cities closest to their residence.

Yes, but  under strict tournament policy conditions.  No Western Region player can play for another Brick team unless he or she is granted a release/waiver by the Western Selects Hockey program. No release/waiver will be granted to any player who did not attend a local/regional clinic or tryouts. If a player attends tryouts and is not selected on the team, a waiver to play for another Brick team will be granted.  If a player is offered a spot on the Western Selects roster and declines, no waiver will be granted.
