The differences between Figure Skating and Hockey Skating are Figure Skaters have much better blades (and a toe pick), standing starts, using your toe in tight turns and the forward stride. Backwards skating, edge work and basically everything else are the same. All blades have an inside and outside edge and figure skaters use edges (toe picks) to do jumps and spins. Figure skating coaches will do the best at teaching edges. The best figure skating coach to use for hockey are ones that also understand how to teach standing starts, using your toe in turns and a hockey stride. The issue with most is that Figure Skating coaches will charge more than Hockey Coaches for skating lessons, but if you really want to learn how to skate, go with a Figure Skating coach.
