2019 Costs of High School

(1/3) > >>

lcadad:
Now that the Kings have pulled out all of the subsidies, here is the costs for the LAKHSL:

caveats: This was for JV.  I don't know if Varsity costs are more....

Payment Plan (1k up front, installments for balance):  $3,350.00
Minimum Uniform (Jersey, Socks, Shell):  $240.00
                                                             $500.00

So, minimum is $3850

From what I've heard, over the course of a few seasons the price has increased by $1k.  I'm curious what the costs are for the ADHSL.

hipcheck34:
ADHSHL i believe is well over 4000.00

Maverick:
If I remember right, I paid about 3600 plus tournament-coaches fees of about 600 for varsity ADHSHL D3 last year.  I think there is going to be more games for varsity I heard this year, so Im sure fees are going up a bit.  I should find out soon, tryouts are this weekend I think.  I doubt there is a difference between varsity and JV, unless more games this season for varsity.

Hockeykid:
Congratulations! Welcome to the world of Corporate hockey & finally realizing the Kings and Ducks started these High School leagues to sell ice and make money. Yep, Kings and Ducks suckered most all the Southern California Midgets kids to go play on these High School hockey teams because it was so cool for players to play on a hockey team with all your High School buddies representing the school.  Not to mention the program was way cheap (subsidized by the Ducks and Kings) to get the kids hooked on HS hockey like a drug dealer selling crack to kids & it worked fantastic! Now that the leagues are established and ruled by the Kings and Ducks, they are raising their rates & no longer providing subsidies. Go Figure….  Brilliant plan by the Kings and Ducks and now they are going to be making tons of $ for a long time as the midget kids are stuck paying whatever the Corporate Kings and Ducks want to charge to play in their HS league.

Crazy.

In Norcal the Sharks High school league is admittedly much less serious - mostly either a continuance of in-house for older kids, or a chance to play with your buddies from school, and a lower priority than any kind of travel. But the fees are typically along the lines of in-house, < $1000 for most teams. JV is about 18 games, and one practice a week. Varsity is fewer games, and practices are charged extra (some teams don't practice, as all the players are AA, AAA and not looking for even more time at the rink).
