Congrats on the successful Quebec Peewee tournament campaigns waged by the '05 JD's and JK's in AAA and the Jr Gulls in AA, who all made it to the Round of 16.
Jr Gulls lost a heartbreaker in a shootout to Point-Levy Commandeurs. The Draw is here (http://uni.publicationsports.com/sags-files/graphsheets/AAo.pdf?r=592230271)
JD's lost to Jr. Sabres 0-2, and JK's lost in Overtime to HoneyBaked.
AAA Draw here (http://uni.publicationsports.com/sags-files/graphsheets/AAAo.pdf?r=349519498).

The 2nd most prestigious amateur hockey tourney in the world had the 03 kings making the elite 8 the 04 kings making the final and both 05 ducks and kings making round of 16. I'd say all is not bad in the competitive AAA hockey landscape in so cal

What’s the most prestigious? Carmen Starr?
Aint hardly no Canadian teams at the Quebec tournament. Why?
-
Something called the world juniors. As for Canada. It's political. No ontario teams
-
so more presrigious than the memorial cup under -18s and 17s ivan hlinka

Fair enough Just happy these teams are showing up

In allseriousness, I’ve never understood all the hoopla over the Quebec tournament. You’re gone for about 10 days in which your kid might play 3 or 4 games if you're lucky, you play the same American teams you would at a good Tier1 or “ super -series†tourney, and you freeze your butt off. I guess its fun for the kids to play in front of big crowds, but it still doesn’t seem worth it.
Bobby Orr, what is this jaded hockey parent missing?

... except that many/most of the top kids on that Kings 04 team last year were not even from California, others were not from so cal, some were ringers, and the team collapsed immediately after that tournament ended and half the team (much of the better half) buzzed off. That was not much of a statement about "the competitive AAA hockey landscape in so cal" at all, except how screwed up it is.
(And "second most prestigious"? What's the first in your book? Don't tell me, the Wildcats Memorial Day Showdown? The Quebec tourney doesn't even attract much Canadian participation from outside Quebec, let alone from overseas, and to state the obvious it's 12 year olds so who the hell cares? It's a nice vacay in the snow for the kiddies, right before they start crapping their diapers as first year bantams.)
