Title: PWAAA
Post by: Racetonowhere on November 07, 2017, 09:43:46 PM
I wish Bobby Orr would post some of his usual psychobabble so ZD would come out of retirement. Discussions  about 2 flight system are getting boring. Any news on suspension of jk06 coach?

So what did the Kings coach do to justify that long of a suspension?

I have it on good authority that a Russian was involved.

Heard the Kings Coach got suspended for trying to fight another coach during a game. Classy...

Curious to hear more about the PWAA 06 Ducks from last season. Sounds like another rostergate.  That was a good team. Never heard anything last season about them having PDR difficulties. I doubt there will be any disciplinary action since we’re now talking about the Ducks.

Yes, they can play AAA major.  It rarely happens now a days.

Here’s the long and the “short” of it, as told by a friendly parent on the JD team via text.

“A very disgruntled and vindictive former parent has done everything he can to try and ruin our team,  including sending out a 15 page PowerPoint with “evidence” that the we cheated the PDR by using a ghost player. The items overlooked by the parent is that the “ghost player” played in two games with us and we had enough players with or without him to meet PDR.”

I can’t wait to see this PowerPoint...sounds crazy.

I have to say that part of the CAHA manual is open to interpretation.  The Tier1 section doesn't make mention of PDR at all.  Regardless, if you don't have 5 players from your club playing on a team within the last 2 seasons, then it's essentially a new team.

Um... how is it a lot to do about nothing? It wasn’t PDR issue... it was minimum players issue. And ghost player rostered in 17 games throughout the season, including playoffs... with ghost stats included. And those stats weren’t from one game... they were from 4.

Still a lot about nothing?

So it was about Min player? Was sounding like it was implied it was a PDR issue. I count 17 kids and if you take 1 away, it's still 16.. what am i missing?? So not a PDR issue and seems like they had 16 even missing 1 player. Again, What am i missing?

Kids came and went at different times, which put them below, that’s what you’re missing. Kid was rostered in games and wasn’t there, that’s what you’re missing. Kid got fake stats in four games when he wasn’t there, that’s what you’re missing.

Do you need more? Or should we talk about forged LOIs or lack of payment by a rostered player?  Or perhaps what it means when a coach and assistant coaches sign a score sheet 17 times when it contains forged information?

I think the official report is available in paperback form from Bakersfield to Yorba Linda.  Check your local rink.  From a rules and ethics standpoint, it's a serious offense. As a parent, wouldn't you notice if some kid showed up on your scoresheet... 17 times... with stats nonetheless?  Wouldn't you ask about that?  And if you said nothing, knowing that it was false, wouldn't that make you complicit?

It's messy, and it would be very disheartening if CAHA tries to just sweep it under the rug like it's nothing.

They will probably say it was a "clearical" error.
There are 2 sets of rules.  One for the big clubs another for every other club.
Title: Re: PWAAA
Post by: lcadad on November 20, 2017, 11:51:04 AM
If these allegations are true, then I would expect the same punishment handed down to the Wave should be applied to the Ducks.  Namely, coach should be suspended for a year, and the Ducks would be disallowed to have a AAA major '06 team.

Anything less than that (again if the allegations are provable) and that would indeed be a failure of SCAHA/CAHA to apply the same rules to the Ducks.  Given that the Wave doesn't have a AAA team, and they were prohibited from having any Peewee AA teams, one might also question whether the Ducks should also be prevented from having any Peewee AA teams as well, using the same logic.  Preventing them from having a Peewee AAA '06 major team would seem to be called for, but it wouldn't really have any impact if they could just take the team to AA next season.  To match what was done to the Wave it would have to be a prohibition of both AAA and AA.

I was very outspoken in my criticism of the Wave and what happened last year with Coach Calder's team.  If a coach knowingly signed off on a player who was not suited up numerous times, then the repurcussions to club, team and coach should be equal to what happened to the Wave.
Maybe Cal Rubber should write and article on ethics instead of focusing on this chat board.

Oh yes, “clerical” mistake. 17 times. In out of order games. Spanning into the playoffs. And clearly an “oversight” by the coach and assistant coaches not to see the name on the roster they signed. 17 times. Which included stats. 4 different times. Which was “human error” by the refs. Giving stats to kid not there. You know, 4 different times. And an “oversight” by parents not to flag that. Ever.

That it sooooo common in youth hockey. Especially at the Tier II level. When no one really cares. And no one really follows that stuff. It’s just one big misunderstanding. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Folks, there’s smoke. There’s fire. And there’s a dead body hidden under the floorboards.

I understand that in life things are rarely fair. People/groups get preferential treatment all the time. Like I tell my kids, "Life sucks, get use to it."
BUT
Even though this IS s business, there are children involved.  Thus it should be held to a higher standard.
The precedence was set last year.
Same rules need to apply to ALL.

So let me get this straight… This is the same JRD 06 group that has had serious documented problems with bullying, a coach that only plays his favorites and absolutely verbally abuses his non favorites (ala the Colorado coach that went viral)…. All this to the point he has lost 3 players under LOI over the last year and change… one as recent at yesterday!!!

You doughnuts still think there is nothing going on with this group? Something about nothing lol…. They don’t bully? (starts from the coach down) and they don’t cheat? (if you read that report it’s pretty obvious). It’s not too hard to connect the dots once you take a look at the facts with this group. I wonder how all those families feel that missed out on playoffs last year because of this 06 group.

EK has a rep for a reason, he pulled the same shit before he even coached these 06’s. He honed these skills while with the non BF WC’s at KHS before his time at JRD. It’s time for him and his three daddy coaches to be hung out to dry, lucky for CAHA they already set an example for this kind of punishment last year with KC and the Wave. How this staff and club gets anything less than that would be laughable… Bigger question is, and will be….  did the JRD know about this phantom player, condone the cheating and are they now trying to cover up their own mess and trying to keep things quite through pulling the puppets strings at CAHA?

It’s time for the people running this league to hold EVERYONE accountable to the same standard.

Just need two clear answers to the following questions, so that we're all on the same page:

1. What did having a phantom player accomplish for the JD team?

2. Is it the same violation that the Wave team were accused of last year?

Just need honest, straight forward answers from someone familiar with both - please.

1. Allowed them to reach a minimum amount of players needed.

2. Wave was a PDR issue when a player quit mid-season.

So, both are roster manipulation issues. Both coaches were aware they had players on the scoresheet who didn't play in a game. Wave 3 times.  Ducks 17 times.  Ducks also went as far as giving points to the ghost player to cover up their actions.

Oh my lord will the Kings 06 parents on this site get a life!!!! Why the non stop obsession with the Jr Ducks 06 group. Tell me how this issue has anything to do with you? Other than you have a disgruntled ex parent in the group telling straight up lies non stop.

Didnt the Kings lose 10-3 in the last game? Wasnt the coach banned 30 days for trying to fight the Ducks coach, on the ice? Havent they only beaten this group once in dozens of attempts....arent the Ducks ranked top 3 the last 3 years.....seriously on and on.......get a grip.

I think you need to focus on the hockey and stop the Single White Female/Fatal attraction obsession with the Ducks. It is getting creepy. It is in fact disturbing, trust me the Ducks dont give your team a second thought.

You can say what you want about EK but look at the results, they very much speak for themselves.

Didnt some of the Kings kids go with EK to the Show and won the US division and nearly the whole thing.

Honestly, focus on your team, skate more, stick handle more and i'm sure you will be successful as well.

As for the Ghost player issue....it was proven to be false........there was no ghost player as much as you want one. The ducks NEVER violated roster rules they had no reason to as they had enough players.

EK at the moment is the most successful coach in California.....with Pitcher.......When the JK 06 coach has his resume then he can gloat.

I think flogging a dead horse is a better analogy.

Well, kids came and went at different times. Early on, a key kid left. Ghost player was used to keep minimum without adding another player. Then, another player became free from another team... and they added that player. As a way to cover themselves, they kept the ghost player on the roster. Once or twice or three times is a clerical error... 17 is not. The coaches and assistant coaches continued to sign scoresheets with the ghost player on it... and went so far as to give him fake stats. This in itself is a major, major violation. But it brings up bigger issues like is there an LOI?  Is it real or fake?  Did the ghost player pay dues?  Where are the receipts?  And, most importantly, did the Jr Ducks organization know about this?  If they did... then they've tiptoed into the Wave territory of losing an entire Tier division for a year.

I literally gave you the roster from CAHA that shows 15 real kids that played from the first game to the last. None of them came and went. Your main argument of allowing them to reach a minimum is invalid. You've rallied a bunch of parents from the Wave and Kings, that were good parents, into believe you when the true evidence is right in front of everyone's face.

Incorrect. Jr Ducks had 13 kids after tryouts... then added kid from Wildcats... and then another from Jr Kings. Ghost player was the insurance.  Oddly, though, ghost player stayed on the roster.

So, answer this... why was ghost player left on roster 17 times (don’t say clerical error)? And how did he receive stats in 4 games (don’t say ref error)?

Hey we used to all be friends. Lets get together and clear the air. No need to speculate and make assumptions or accusations based on mis-information. This goes both ways. It’s kids hockey and it’s not worth going thru angry. I can’t believe any parent on either team actually hates each other or wants this.

Funny how everyone bashed KC and The Wave. It was  basically a witch hunt by angry parents. No one seemed to care about those kids or families. Again this only hurts the kids, but fair is fair. If there was cheating and score sheets were not correct, the punishment should be the same.
Title: Re: PWAAA

If EK signed the scoresheet with a ghost player, it's a one year suspension for both the coach and manager. Club should also get a one year Peewee AA suspension. This is the precedent that CAHA set last year with the Wave. It's the coaches responsibility to make sure that the roster is correct, or at least according to CAHA.
It sucks to have anyone suspended for PDR or minimum roster rules, but these are the rules that the big clubs came up with to benefit their clubs. It looks like it didn't work out too god for them this time.
I think what everyone really wants to see is how much pull the Ducks organization has over CAHA. In most peoples opinion, they run the league. We will soon find out..I have a feeling we'll only hear about this on the boards!

As for the Ghost player issue....it was proven to be false........there was no ghost player as much as you want one. The ducks NEVER violated roster rules they had no reason to as they had enough players.

So if there was no "ghost player" then are you contending that the player in question played in all 17 games he is listed as playing in on the CAHA stats page and that he earned 4 assists legitimately?  If he played a few games and it was a clerical error that he stayed on the roster, did he sign an LOI? Did he pay dues? What was he charged?  There was a player that moved to MN that played in 0 regular season games. When they moved did the roster drop below the required number of players?  They added a player that was released from the Kings who played in 17 of 19 CAHA games.  Assuming that player missed the first two games, then did the Ducks add the suspected "ghost" player and for the first two games and then cut him when the Kings player transferred? If so then why wasn't he removed from the roster?  Was he given a refund? Is there a record of a refund?  If he was cut then how did he earn points later in the season when he was no longer on the team?  A double clerical error? Wouldn't a player who wasn't on the team being given points in games he didn't play in raise a red flag and cause the team to remove him from the roster?  If they, as you said above, had enough players, why would a Tier team sign a player from the Ducks inhouse league?  I've never heard of a kid going from inhouse to AA, is that a common thing?  Why did they call up players from their lower level travel teams to go to out of town tournaments instead of the inhouse player? It stands to reason that if they wanted to add a real player to their roster, isn't it more likely that they would have chosen to take one of the players that they took to an out of town tournament?  Certainly you can see that this raises a lot of questions.  You can't say it was a clerical error, you would have to say it was a series of clerical errors.  This looks like a perfect storm of clerical errors. A little too perfect.  And after having said all that, I honestly have no idea of any rules were broken but this seems a bit shady.
Title: Re: PWAAA
Post by: Kangaroo Jack on November 22, 2017, 08:19:52 AM
The fact is the coach, assistant coaches and manger signed an incorrect scoresheet 17 times.  Motivation isn’t important… the violation is.  A precedence was set last year for improper scoresheets.  CAHA has to act. At the very least, the group should get a game suspension for each violation… putting it at 17 games. But the precedence is a one-year suspension for the coach and a Tier ban on the organization. Anything short of that exposes CAHA as a biased, ethically-corrupted organization.

The next year, the principals nephew does pretty much the same thing and doesn't get shit.

Or another way to look at it is, it's great to see Southern California PWAAA Minor hockey so strong!

Remember when NHL teams used to love to come to CA?  Currently though NHL teams consider it a tough road trip and very much talked about when Winnipeg Jets came close to sweeping CA last week..

You have it all wrong, Jack... those rules don’t apply to them! And besides, we talked about this... no one should post anymore about this so it all goes away! Pleeeeease!!

Can anyone explain how the Ducks were found guilty of cheating but didn't get in trouble ???
Didn't an upset parent come clean and admit to helping falsify the scoresheets? What's the real story?

BTW i love donuts....thanks kangaroo.

Welcome to All-You-Can-Eat Monday!! We’re serving up Humble Pie with a side of roast Duck… EXTRA crispy!! Easy on your helpings, though… you’ll want to maintain that slim figure for your upcoming CAHA infractions hearing. Remember, appearance means everything!

First off, I’d like to thank you for the advice. We’ve been taking our skating lessons. Our stick handling lessons. And they have already paid off in a 7-3 victory over you guys in the NHL Youth Cup! Thanks for the helping words! Couldn’t be more appreciative! And if you’d like to offer any more advice, please email it to IDontGiveACrap@SuckIt.Com

Oh, and just to clarify… THIS group of Kings have played YOUR group of Ducks twice. You thumped us the first time… and we thumped you the second time. That’s 1-1 for those scoring at home.

But you know what… we should all just calm down and be respectful. These are kids after all. Precious little angels.

So from the bottom of my heart… congrats on the loss. Enjoy your helping of Humble Pie.  And we look forward to seeing you again next week at the Anaheim Ice Barn. We’ll be bringing the Szechuan sauce.  And you better take your Tums…  because it’s going to be EXTRA hot and EXTRA spicy.

Cheers.

However as a person who is used to winning, I have only one thing to say.

Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, good luck in Toronto and see you again in 2018.

Well, well, well… look who crawled out from the Anaheim Ice dumpster and decided to rejoin the party! I was beginning to worry about you after last week’s mule kick to the apple sack! But I see that like the Walking Dead and Chlamydia, you will not go down easily!

Okay then… fasten your seatbelt, head down, grab your ankles… and BRACE FOR IMPACT!

First off, congrats on being “used to winning.” It must be SOOOOO hard to even play teams like us. I mean, only two more wins and you’ll actually equal OUR wins for the season! Yay! Way to go! Now… if you could only FOCUS all that winning for Sundays and you MIGHT win a BANNER one of these days! You know, banners are those big plastic things hanging from the rafters at the Toyota Sports Center that say CHAMPION at the bottom! They’re super fun to win! You should try it sometime!

You know what, though… I’m just being rude now. I’m a GIVING person. And I CARE for the kids. See, we have TWO CHAMPIONSHIP BANNERS on the season. So, if you’re nice… we might even LOAN you one! Heck, you can even take it back to that garbage hut you built with Rocket down by the LA River in Anaheim Hobo Village. It’ll help keep you both warm at night! But remember, it’s only a loaner… so I’m gonna need it back.

Regardless of your Championship shortcomings, congrats on your CAHA regular season win today. You’ve moved to the top of a three team playoff race… where ALL THE TEAMS QUALIFY! Good job! It’s just a shame your win couldn’t have come last week in the NHL Youth Cup… WHEN IT MATTERED!

Till next time, boys. Enjoy the loaner. But watch your tone… cause I WILL come down to Hobo Village and take back your blanket… or as I call it - MY CHAMPIONSHIP BANNER!

Cheers.

Wow.  After that pounding you took, I’m impressed you can still type.  Heck, I thought you’d be curled up on your shower floor like Jodie Foster trying to scrub away the shame.

But you know what, it WAS your fault... and you liked it!

Because here you are. Back for more.

Yet you crept out from under your Troll bridge once again to hit me with the same insult?  Just a looooooonger version of it? 😒

Nice work, bro. I’m soooooo hurt. How dare I like my kid. How dare I like watching him play. How dare I like his team.  Buuuuuurn, bro.

You know what, take your worn out wife and lame insults back to Bantam B... and leave the insults to the professionals.  Besides, you’re distracting from the pending CAHA infractions we’re preparing to discuss with the Jr Duck parents.

Oh, and by the way... your Mom is fat, she has hair on her tongue, and she’s so poor that when she buys a Value Meal at McDonald’s she has to put the fries on layaway.

It has been veeeeeeery quiet these days down in Hobo Village.

I sure hope those pesky ICE agents didn’t nab you at John Wayne Airport upon your return from the Ducks Annual Face-Plant in Buffalo. That would make me downright sad.

Shame those creampuff Division teams can’t carry over to the games that matter... but that’s a bit of a theme down there in the Land of Hobos, isn’t it? Start fast... end sloooooooow.

Anyhow, keep working those skills. Keep skating. And keep dreaming of banners. Because you never know... with hard work maybe you’ll be able to scratch that itch next year. Or the next. Or the next. Or the next...

Who are you guys playing this week?
Guessing KJ & his beloved JK '06's "The 2017 NHL Youth Cup Champions" are travelling today, so here is their '06 Division Schedule for The Mississauga Rebels Border Battle this weekend:
https://app.gameonmobile.com/organization/4314/league/5057/schedule

Friday, 01/19/18 @ 11:15 am vs Toronto Titans '06 (currently #11)
Friday, 01/19/18 @ 5:30 pm vs Toronto Red Wings (currently #7)
Saturday, 01/20/18 @ 11:00 am vs Mississauga Rebels (currently #8 & just lost to JD's @ The Hockey Cup)
Saturday, 01/20/18 @ 6:45 pm vs Elgin Middlesex Chiefs (currently #5)
Sunday, 01/21/18 @ 9:45 am vs Don Mills Flyers (currently #16)

I personally do not reside in Hobo Village, BUT do think back to back appearances in The Hockey Cup Buffalo Finals (2016 & 2017) and another loss (2018) although in the SemiFinals this year speaks volumes for SoCal hockey & '06 JD's.
Looks like there was 35 teams in the '06 division.  SemiFinals  = JD's losing to Mississauga Senators 2-4 and Team Illinois losing to Toronto Jr Canadians 2-3 .  Sens are currently #1, and did win this tournament by the same score over Jr Habs, currently #2.

Sunday school and it’s only Wednesday! What a treat! Well, I have a Proverb that best describes the Hobo Village Ducklings and it goes like this...

[text deleted by moderator]

But let’s not get off track... I’m seeing tons of stats here. A LOTTA important stats. Something about 2nd place and another 2nd place. And then something about 4th place this year? Or was it 3rd place? Wait.. was there some kind of a Losers Bracket Championship to figure that one out? We need to know!! Or did those poor little kids just get sent back to Cali medal-less again and told to stick to roller hockey?!
T
I’m just kidding. Being the 1st or 2nd or 3rd loser is an impressive feat. It really is. And don’t think it’s not lost on me that the Ducklings’ late tourney stumbles happened in Buffalo of all cities... home of the 4-Time Super Bowl losers, the Buffalo Bridesmaids!!! ☹️☹️☹️

Hey, you know what... that has a nice ring to it... the Hobo Village Bridesmaids!! Yeah!! Now we’re cooking with grease!!👰 👰👰

Anyhow, remember, you always have tomorrow. There is always another tournament. You can always win the next... er... wait... oh... I forgot...

You don’t have any more tournaments. Hmm. Bummer. Oh well.

Better luck next year, I guess. 🙂

Cheers.

Hey Kangaroo,

Nice to see you digging a nice deep hole for yourself....I see that you guys found another nice SOFTY tournament to play in.....some of the teams that didn’t make Buffalo will be ther with you....Perhaps after this tournament you could go back to Milwaukee And play in the Girl Scout Mini Mite Jamboree....

Yeah we lost to the  best 06 team in North America. Their Record is 43-1-2.....we lost 2-4 same as JRC. JRC beat TI.....All three teams we have played and YOU have NEVER played.....that’s right Never!

You will have another year where we are the ONLY top 5 team you face....or as your Mantra “Just Wait Till Next Year”

I don’t remember anyone saying gee I wish the No 10 ranked US team was here. At the North American Championships.

Enjoy Toronto.....perhaps the Sylvania North Stars can come battle with you again.

Enjoy the softness......we rather the challenge.

Emergency Alert
BALLISTIC MISSILE INBOUND FROM HOBO VILLAGE. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

HAHAHA!!! Look who made a funny! I genuinely laughed at a couple of your insults! Kudos!

However... I’ll have you know, the Girl Scouts take their Mini Mite Jamborees VERY seriously. It was both an honor and a privilege to crush those BB Super Elite teams back into their mommy’s loving embrace. But unlike you boys, we finish what we start... no matter the game. Oh, and big congrats on pointing out all the teams you CONSTANTLY lose to. Must be such an honor just to play them. Heck, you’re like the Washington Generals of Championship Sundays... you constantly show up, but you never win.

Speaking of championships... it’s called the North American CHALLENGE. Not Championship. Because I’m pretty sure your creampuff Divisional schedule filled with sub-30th ranked teams wouldn’t be in any Championships (unless we’re talking about our beloved Mini Mite Jamboree— HOLLA!!). Let’s keep focused on Sundays, shall we? When it matters. And not on your traditional Friday night Instagram sessions when the sled team from Yellowknife shows up for a tilt.

And to be clear, “just wait til next year” isn’t OUR mantra. It’s YOUR mantra. Like, “just wait til next year when less kids quit our team mid-season.” Or “just wait til next year when we stop pissing in each other’s bags because we’re a-holes.” Or, and my person favorite, “just wait til next year when these dick-pics finally develop and we can see who truly has the biggest Johnson!!!”

Such a wonderful locker room you have there. No wonder your focus stays on point for a strong “one and a half days” of every tournament.

Anyhow, thanks for the fire across the bow. A spirited back and forth is always welcomed. However, El Segundo is protected by an Iron Dome... and Hobo Village is nothing more than a pile of twigs. Stay warm, friend. It’s a long winter... and there are no banners in site.

Cheers.

Jesus...2-2 so far in a low level tourney (AKA, ‘Kings Special’) is NOT a good look after all the shit you’ve talked. The only thing we’ve come to expect more at one of your tourneys is a Kangaroo Jack special, where you get black out drunk and puke and shit yourself in front of the kids.
Has the coach’s new minion complained about playing time or who his kid is playing with yet? If not this crap fest of a tourney, I’m sure it’s not far off!

What are the rankings of the 05 teams?
Title: Re: PWAAA
Post by: #4BobbyOrr on January 25, 2018, 04:09:31 PM
around 6 and 15 but used to be higher in previous years. pretty good to have 2 in the top 15 or 20 though. usually 1 socal team will be ranked high because they vacuumed up the talent and no other local team is close. or 2 local teams will have mediocre rankings.  Now we're starting to see 2 local teams both get in or near the top 10, which can only mean California hockey is progressing nicely, imo.

One of the prevailing themes of this forum is that the pool of 'AAA' caliber players at Squirt, Peewee and Bantam is infintesimally small.  The fact that we are talking about the entire state of California and that the geographic barriers and exorbitant travel costs are a significant barrier to a substantial portion of the available pool of players, makes this even more curious, but despite what many claim, competition seems to raise all boats if you look at the '05 year.  I also see signs that this is also happening at the '06 year.

It was the case through the Squirt and Peewee minor years, that one of the 2 AAA teams was better than the other, and there was even movement between the 2 teams, especially coming into this year, with the "stronger" team picking up a few of the top players from their opponent.  That would lead one to believe that the other team might be going down the drain.

Well a funny thing happens when kids play a sport.  They grow, and get better at it, and some kids figure things out and get bigger and stronger and if there is good coaching, they might even learn more about how to succeed as a member of a team.

And in some cases, kids developed into capable AAA caliber players when perhaps in the past they were not thought to be able to play at that level by Cal hockey observers.   This year we have a Bantam AA club team that is routinely beating AAA teams.  But by all means, hopefully enough impediments can be put in place, and punishments handed out to any team that might lose to a team that is significantly better than they are, because that must mean that the kids on that team are garbage, and will never be able to hang with the better kids.

These predictions work best when you create a system that does its best to keep local teams from playing each other, and discourages the idea that teams might have competitive fluidity across the boundary created by the number of A's or B's in their division.

Post by: Racetonowhere on January 26, 2018, 12:42:54 PM
Based on my limited experience with PW, the kids on the AAA teams are on the average "better" 11-12 yr old hockey players than the  kids on the AA teams, who are on the average "better" than the  kids on the A teams, and so on. But having said that, there  are a lot of kids on AA and even A teams that are better, even much better, 11-12 yr old hockey players than kids on AAA teams. Cost of AAA hockey is definitely an impediment to many. And, as you say, kids develop at different rates; so, a kid playing PW A today might develop into a "better"  Bantam  player than a kid playing PWAAA today.  There definitely seems to be too much emphasis at the younger levels on the number of As than on having fun and developing skills.

What's that saying about karma?

Bobby Orr how will this affect the "rankings"?

Post by: #4BobbyOrr on January 30, 2018, 01:22:08 PM
I am guessing ducks will be 3 and kings go to 4. Pure speculation though.  I think the secret may be all the extra practice during the Kings AA1 team's monday night slot. The pond looked more crowded than a public session at LA live last night with a team and a half sharing half the ice. All that was missing was the Christmas tree in the middle.

That's like having Canadian rankings without any Ontario teams.

Minnesota and North Dakota do not conform to USA hockey.  If you look at the rankings there is a category for Minne-kota.  Growing up in Minnesota kids are placed by grade not birth year.  If you ever played the Squirt international tournament in North Dakota all the kids are a year older than our USA hockey teams based on when they started school

Thanks for the explanation.
It seemed strange to leave out of the rankings the state that is the hockey hotbed in the  US and turns out by far the most American nhlers.

MN and N Dakota birth year runs July 1 to June 30. Rest of USA is Jan 1 to Dec 31. They're still part of USA hockey but their oldest kids in every age group are 6 months older than the oldest kids in the same age group in other states so they don't rank them together. July through december 2006 born kids in MN are still in squirts, but are in Pee Wee everywhere else.

The Jr Kings won the CAHA State Championship today over the Jr Ducks, and if you've been following... the Jr Kings will have taken home ANOTHER banner, while the Jr Ducks have won zero all season. So it's implied that the Jr Ducks will be very cold tonight since they don't have a banner to keep them warm.

Jr Kings organization also won the other 6 divisions of CAHA Tier 1.  Giving them a clean sweep of all 7 State Championships this year.

Title: Re: PWAAA

Nope.  Never happened before.  7 State Championships.  Guess that ’06 Jr Duck parent karma for being total asshats has seeped into all of the Tier 1 divisions… and brought doom and gloom.  Like the ad says, We’re All Kings… but in this case, only the winners are Kings.

Anyhow, I’ll keep this brief.  This year, we’ve proven we’re the victors through and through.  You might win on Friday or Saturday, but on Championship Sunday, when it matters, and all the chips have been pushed into the middle of the table… you’re just posers.  One Championship banner might be a fluke… but two is a pattern.  The Hobo tyranny has come to an end.  The Darkside has been defeated.  And the Death Star has been destroyed.

Hope has prevailed… and the daddy coaches from Anaheim to North San Diego County weep over their failures.  Where did it all go wrong?  How did it fall apart so quickly?  Can our short-benched, mini-Mite Super All-Stars hold up one more year as our speed decreases and our whining increases?

The answer is NO.  It’s over, little ducklings.  Your soft, wimpy, scheming brand of hockey is over.  It’s NOT time to rebuild… it’s time to switch sports.  There’s nothing wrong with soccer.  Or water polo.  Or table tennis for that matter.

2018 is the year of the Kings.  And in closing… I wrote you a special Haiku:

Cold Hobo Village
Bannerless Hobo Village
Sad Hobo Village

Double birds, boys.  Suck it hard.  And I’m out.

Grats on the State Championships clean sweeps for the Kings, too bad you couldn't reproduce the same results at Districts. Looks like the only King team moving on to Nationals with a win are the 14AAA's.
The 15AAA's and 16AAA's didn't even make it to the finals, and the 18AAA's lost to the Ducks 0-6 in the final. Maybe the majority of the Kings players can enjoy their state banners at home while watching their fellow 14AAA's or the Ducks 16AAA's and 18AAA's on BlackDog at Nationals.

So for the Kings, enjoy your crown while sitting on your throne with your season done. Others are looking beyond their tiny little kingdom for a bigger prize.

You may be closing, but we are still open for business. I also wrote a Haiku (not as clever as you though)

Maybe I will see you
Maybe I won't

Umm… I see the Troll Bridge has been lowered and a Hobo Village Elder has been so kind as to visit us down here from the prestigious SoCal Midget Division.  I didn’t know hockey went past Bantams in SoCal… but you learn something new everyday!  Oh, wait… can we even still say Midget?  Is that PC?  Or is it the Little People Division?  We’ll go with that.. the 18UAAA Little People Division.  Good luck at the Little People Nationals… or whatever the heck it is.  😀

Anyhow, moving on…

If you haven’t noticed, my praise was for all Kings team, since it was quite an accomplishment, but my bread and butter is the 06 team. That’s PW Minor, if you didn’t know. We won the State Championship, and the team we beat, the Jr Duck 06 Mite Elite All-Stars, are at home as well.  We’re both on the couch playing PS4 right now.  In fact, we’re halfway through an awesome Fortnight campaign and we’re all friends again (they’re losing half their team next year… so they kinda have to be cool now that they’ll try to poach our players).

If you’re thinking that’s an infraction, it’s not. They’re the glorious Jr Ducks… and on my watch as CAHA Master & Commander, they do as they like (CHA-CHING!!! Another dollar in my pocket!). 🤑

Thanks for the thoughts, though.  Best of luck with your Little People National Championship ambitions.  And if that doesn’t work out… the Hot and Horny Housewives of Orange County are always looking for a good skate coach for their lil’ Corey Perrys.  And a lot more can come from that $40 an hour fee… if you know what I’m saying.  I think you do.          😉

All rise. The Court of CAHA Shenanigans & Tomfoolery is now in session, the Honorable Judge Kangaroo Jack presiding.

Everyone please be seated, the jury has come to a decision in the matter of Jr Kings 06 v. Jr Ducks 06...

It has been said that real men do it twice… so I ask you, what about FOUR TIMES?!  Four times my beloved Jr Kings of LA have beaten your beleaguered Jr Ducks of Hobo Village.  FOUR TIMES in a row!  Just so we’re all on the same page, for there to be a rivalry, a REAL rivalry… you’re going to have to actually WIN a game one of these days!!  Come on, boys!!  You’re gonna need those new Bauer skates!! The ones with the carbon-coated steel AND the flexible tongue!!

However… as the newly-elected CAHA Senior Vice President of Shenanigans & Tomfoolery, I have to be more unbiased these days.  Sure, I’ll still influence a CAHA Weekend and place it in the anus of California or bury a roster investigation that my Orange County masters want nothing to do with or keep those big club Squirts playing up in the PWAA Flights their deep-pocketed parents desire… but when it comes to making fun of a once proud, pompous and downright entitled group of delusional 06 coaches and parents, I’m trying to keep things  above board these days.

No more making fun of crapping the bed on Championship Monday.  No more mocking parents and coaches for years without a banner.  And no more ribbing my friends to the south about the stream of talent fleeing Hobo Village like a Walmart on Black Friday.  That ALL ends today!

Because today… I’m all about bringing people together!  I’m all about the positive!  We’re all friends here in the world of hockey!  We’re all encouraging pals!

So, in the honor of friends… I’d like to add a new poem to my collection of poems inspired by you.  This one is a limerick, and I think you’ll like it:

“A Duckling Winter”

Hobo Village again is sad
