Is it true that SCAHA Mite tryouts will be held this year in 3rd weekend of June??? So we will have to keep our mites in hockey almost till middle of the summer?!

Tryouts will begin June 14th. Per the SCAHA Guidebook...
“A & B tryouts (youth) are permitted to begin the second Friday in June.â€

It's strange that SCAHA could not change it, how it's been last year. First weekend after memorial day AA Tryouts and second weekend A/BB/B Tryouts. To be honest all tryouts should be held in May. USA Hockey recommends to stay out of hockey for 3-4 months. With tryouts so late, kids will get no more than 2 months of break. it's all about the money here in California not about kids, unfortunately.

SCAHA Rules have been 1st Friday in June for AA and second Friday in June for A/BB/B. One more week does not make a difference due to Sat being the 1st of June this year.

Well, in NorCal A/BB/B Tryouts were held in the second week of August. It's all about money.
