Teams were all over the place at Jamboree with hardly any blowouts... Like last year, I will bet CAHA won't flight 16U's this season.

Only a Wave2 parent could predict the possible flights as Area did. Give me a break based on Wave2’s record this weekend.

Rumor has it that they are not going to flight 16U. Other than a 3-4 teams there is no clear separation.

0-6 blowout makes a good case for flight 1...

Every good team has a bad game now and then! They looked strong to me with lots of potential. I don’t have a fight in this division but was able to watch them play. Once their forwards start clicking they will be very competitive.

Just saying that Area’s predictions aren’t based on the stats. He puts Reign in Flight2 but they tied Kings1 and had two other close games with Blackhawks and Eagles1, both good teams. He also puts Mariners in flight 2 when they have a better record and played better teams than Wave2 and only lost to Sharks in the last 11 seconds. Sharks blew Wave2 out of the water but somehow according to Area, Wave2 are better than Mariners. Just rely on facts not personal bias.

Well, record-wise Wave2 should've gone 1-1-2 but ref obviously made a lame call which prevented Wave2 from a tie vs GSE1 with 30 seconds left... Anyone who watched that game would agree ref made a terrible call and Wave2 got robbed. Wave2 was missing 3 kids vs Sharks and just didn't play well but being a young team with 04's and 05's, it's not a big surprise to lose or struggle against 03 heavy teams.

We should probably know by now that Jamborees are dumb and doesn't tell you much. Doubtful they will flight 16U's so hopefully folks will be ok about that.

Wave2 had 3 players out due to injury in that Sharks game too...I am sure once they start clicking and have a complete healthy roster...they'll be very competitive. They have the skill...just need to come together.

wasn't basing it on scores, but what I saw as far as team play. Didn't mean to upset anyone. Just posting my opinion of what I saw and the talent on the ice. Any other predictions if they do flight?

They will have a hard time flighting it.. Only a few got blown out but even those teams had a good game or two.

Completely agree Teemu.  The way the weekend played out, in conspiracy theory land, it seems the clubs found a formula for confounding the Dumboree.  Let the teams decide this season.

There is a lot of parity this year. Their is a clear bottom and a clear top, then a lot in the middle.

Hearing from somebody in the know -  "As for when CAHA will announce the flights, give them 2 (or more) weeks to sort things out.".   UGH!!

That will give teams that have to go to Vacaville that first weekend about a week to make travel arrangements.

Two weeks is an eternity compared to the Preseason Evaluation Weekend Jamboree/Pocket Lining timing.

They should send the 18's to Vacaville in October since they are already set.  That is logical so, it probably will not happen.

I am almost sure the 16's will get Cowtown 10/4 - 10/6.

So, for the 16's, there are 18 teams and 4 from NorCal (Sharks, 2 Eagles teams, Blackhawks) and they're going to make 14 teams travel to Vacaville 3 times?  Not sure what the other divisions look like, but seems ridiculous?

Thats not whats happening... We are not going 3 times.. What is listed are the venues being used each weekend but divisions are not assigned.. Nobody gets it.. Stop frwaking out.  All socal teams will go up there once.

I'll believe it when I see it.

CAHA did post an initial schedule stating Midgets will go North 3x, then of course they took the schedule off right away and try to calm everyone. Maybe if those CAHA morons never posted the initial schedule in the first place, there would be no need for concern for midget folks?

an effort to address concerns of our membership the following format has been approved by the full CAHA Board of Directors for the 19/20 season:
CAHA will attempt to schedule primarily North vs South games and North vs North at the North venues and South vs South games at the South venues. Each venue will most likely host multiple divisions each weekend.

What does this mean for your team?
South teams: Ideally, 4 teams per division will travel North and play only North teams in 1 of the 5 weekends. The other 4 weekends you will be in the South venues playing your South opponents.
North teams: Ideally, you will spend 4 of the 5 weekends in North venues playing both North and South teams and travel South once to complete the round, if needed.
However, based on the number of teams in each flightision the above scenarios may not be adequate to complete the required games, but it is the intention of CAHA to schedule games as reasonably as possible based on the teams geographical make-up.

This may be a stupid question,  I m a little out of the loop....

But what was the purpose of the Midgets ( not going to use the 16u bullshit tag) traveling to SJ ????
