Did they get a waiver of the clock recruitment rule?

They really wouldn't need a waiver with the PDR only being at 25%; the Club just needs to get creative and mix teams up a bit to fill with 3-4 kids for their roster, but seriously doubt any waiver will be granted. Their is no reason to really; It's not like the Riptide situation.

And we all know how versed those Wave coaches are with PDR and CAHA rules. 20 bucks says this soemthing gets messed up big time and those parents are elft scratching their heads.
The coaches you speak of are Artesia wave, NOT Ontario Wave.  Big difference.  I believe the push for this split came when a team moving up to Peewee AA out of Ontario was told, just weeks before tryouts, that Artesia would get the two AA teams.  Ontario players were left to scramble for new teams. This move takes care of that problem.

I think they need a waiver because a new club, by definition, could not meet PDR (unless there is a rule that covers this specific situation).  Don't they need (and I assume got) SCAHA/CAHA to formally say that kids who played for Wave out of Ontario this season count towards the new club's PDR and that and that contact with Wave kids out of Ontario will not be treated as recruitment?

A/B playoffs have not even started but silly season just got off to a roaring start.

Nailed it!

"Another key reason for the split is to allow both clubs to field more high-level teams.  CAHA rules allow for each club to have only two AA teams per age group. Because the Wave already has AA teams playing out of Artesia, this rule could limit the Ontario rinks’ ability to offer AA teams to its families.  With the creation of EHC, each location can now offer its families the opportunity to play on a AA team."

Ex Wave players will count towards PDR for this year.  That is usually how they do this when the club changes or gets taken over.

Why all the hate for the Ontario chapter of the Wave coaches?

We have been hearing rumors for awhile that Eagles PWA was going AA.  I'm guessing this is how they will be able to do it.
With JK/JD/JG pretty much controlling Tier 1, that means there will be a large amount of talented PW AA players in their major year.  If any of you think that you 'lil Gretzkys SqA team can make the two level jump and dominate, I believe you are high. What would be better, play PWA, do well and everyone has fun and be able to recruit quality kids ( see WAVE Bantam A) OR play PWAA, get your asses kicked, have parents bitching all year and have no one want to play on your team in your major year ?

Might want to check CAHA rule 6.2. It states that a new organization that plays AA is not playoff eligible. Maybe they will find a loop hole.

JD 06's made the jump from squirt A and made the playoffs in AA. JD 05's did too. JK 05's played AA and came up short of the playoffs but were middle of the pack.  JK 03's played A and went 16-0 and won every game by an average score of 10-1.  Think they wished they went AA?  Think their pw A opponents wish they went AA?

Those where exceptional teams and now nationally ranked.. hardly the standard but more like an exception. I don't see any of these new lil up and comers hitting those standards.

Mo hit the nail on the head.

Sorry to burst your bubble B.O.

I've seen some of the top teams in Sq A (including yours) and even though they have SOME kids that are MAYBE of that caliber, most are not of the above mentioned teams level. Not to say they won't develop, they just haven't developed yet.  Some kids develop later...
