Kainoa Leivas
« on: December 15, 2017, 09:10:11 AM »
The Riptide family and all of youth hockey has truly lost a wonderful person.  Kainoa Leivas was lost to us late last night as he succumbed to his injuries from a car crash several days ago.  We are truly heartbroken for the family of this fine young man.  Noa played both ice and roller hockey as a speedy little winger skating smoothly through the rinks.  More importantly, he was such a kind soul off the ice as well.  Noa turned 18 this past month.  Noa deeply touched all of us he came into contact with and he will be sorely missed.  A go fund me account has been set up to help the family with expenses:https://www.gofundme.com/kainoa-leivas

Hug your hockey players a little tighter and please allow Noa's passing to help us all remember that it's not about winning or losing but the safety and health of our kids that counts the most.  We will miss you Noa.  RIP.

Noah played hockey the right way.... with a smile. That big, beautiful smile that reminded players and coaches alike, that this was a game and it was fun. I will never forget him.
