ADHSHL - what's the deal?
« on: October 28, 2018, 04:00:37 PM »
My kid is playing in JV division as she is a freshman.  We live in the Newport Mesa school district.  The team was short players, as is the case for most of the teams in this area. The league paired us with another team to share the cost of practices.

The team pays the league and they book our ice. One of her weekly practices is at 10pm on Tuesdays. Really?  My freshman is out till 11:30pm at practice on a school night??

And the league charges both teams a combined $490 for each practice.  Sorry but an hour on the b rink at khs at 10pm is not worth $500. Looking at what the league is charging for ice, they are making a lot of money.

So how is high school hockey better than club??  High school costs the same with much worse ice times. I can see why the numbers are down so much around us.
