« on: August 17, 2019, 10:52:45 PM »
Hey ALL snagglepuss here!
What's the latest with the 14u A teams this season.
What clubs are expected to be strong ?
Any teams expected to drop from AA?
Any friendly scrimmages?
Kind of quite here on calhockey with labor day and pre-season around the corner.

Seems like the Heat, Gold Rush and Kings won their respective Labor Day tournaments.

Labor day tournaments are done and Pre-Season has two games in the books. Any information or rumors about what teams are dropping down? Teams that remain may be looking for A players from those teams dropping.

I think the only team dropping down is the Reign2.

I did hear rumors that Kings 2 and the Moose may be dropping but no confirmation from anyone yet.

I doubt that.  The CAHA schedule has already been published for the 1st CAHA weekend.  Once games are scheduled, CAHA is unlikely to allow a team to drop.  Case in point would be the PWAA SDIA team from a few years back, who after a tough pre-season schedule, informed CAHA they wanted to drop, gave releases to all their players, and resigned everyone for PWA.

CAHA had already created the season schedule, and informed SDIA that their application to drop was denied, and they were obligated to play AA for the duration of the season.  If you browse the CAHA rulebook you'll find rules that state that CAHA holds all the cards in regards to teams dropping and can disallow it at their discretion.

I believe that Griffins is referring to Bantam A teams dropping to B, not AA to A.  I have also heard Kings 2 and Reign 2 will be dropping to B.
