SQUIRT 20-21

(1/1)

TopCorns88:
Well...
With all the goings on, there is still such a thing as squirt hockey. Perhaps all competition is out of state and it’s the Wild West with no LOI to keep kids from playing hopscotch from team to team.
What has your experience been like so far in 2020? What’s upcoming? 1st year squirts playing in their 1st tourney? 2nd year squirts turning heads and making strides or even jumping to PW? Just starting to find our groove.
Academies are in full swing, tournament teams, underground scrims... you know, the usual.

HockeyGuy-99:
Its a hard year to be a squirt or a squirt looking to play up in peewee.  Actually its a hard year to be playing at any age group.  It is a good year to explore if you've never done so before unless your club is locking you into an unofficial contract, making you pay for your practices a month in advance.  The really good kids are limited to their spots as there's usually one or two really good teams.  As for the average player I'd guess it's musical chairs between rinks and teams as you mentioned.

Deuce:
Tons of Squirt teams from So Cal played in Arizona over Thanksgiving. From Squirt B to AA/Elite.

Oilers (Arel) won the B division.

Ice Dogs (Ochoa) won the Turkey A division.

Oilers (Craft) won the Pilgrim A division.

Champions (Wilford/Goldrush) won the AA division.

HockeyGuy-99:
Wow, I counted 18 teams from CA in those 3 squirt divisions.  I stand corrected.  That's great! I'm glad to see they're all finding a way to play.

I guess we can proceed back to the original question of who's turning heads!  ;D

Thanks for your great job
