The most annoying, Karen like parents and coach I have ever come across.  Without saying it, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I was looking on the stats for this forum -- there are participation stats for back to 2010. The high year in number of posts was 2012 with 8,124 posts for all hockey/age levels. In 2019 there were 2,031. As late as 2017 there were 5,447. In 2022, there were 134 total posts -- for ALL age levels and ALL topics. I doubt it has anything to do with "junior isn't going to make the NHL." Seems like people are just not feeling it.

Concur, delusional parents kill all travel sports.   They can't handle their "Little Johnny" is not going to make it to the show!

I feel sorry for those parents! Luckily my kid is really, really, REALLY good and I won't have to go through that! Our Mite A skating coach says he has D1/Long NHL career written all over him and our stick handling coach says he's way better than he was at that age and our shooting coach says he has the technique of Matthews/Bedard!  All we have to do is stick with the routine and get our 10,000 hours in with each to be next level! We're already halfway there!  My wife and I see all these delusional parents out here not putting the work in and it's sad.  I tell them, my boy is going to be wiping the smiles right off their faces! 

Being a parent this a blessing for you guys.

Haven't visited here in a few years, because, like so many others, we sought out greener pastures.  Perhaps this is the "success" CAHA wanted: getting that USA Hockey affiliate fee based on local address, for kids who are no longer living and playing in California.

Daddy Coaches, Pay to play,  highly political (esp AA and AAA) and a whole lot of aggro/ toxic parents.


My eldest son grew up playing in both the OCHC, Jr, Kings, and Jr. Ducks programs and eventually went back East to play hockey.


My other son started hockey and the politics were so bad, that he removed himself and is now playing high-level travel Lacrosse with much less
politics.


My daughter has gone full-blown with Lacrosse and has never played hockey.


CAHA- the daddy coaches, anger issue coaches, wacko parents, and The Big 3 clubs have made AA-AAA hockey unbearable here.
