Registration for the
6th Annual College Hockey Experience, presented by Smart Hockey, LLC in partnership with the Anaheim Jr. Ducks is now OPEN! This year’s camp will be held at The Rinks Anaheim Ice from Friday, May 18
th through Sunday, May 20
th for all Midget and Bantam aged players.
The College Hockey Experience is the only camp in California run entirely by NCAA coaches who will work directly with all players and it has become recognized as one of the best experiences in the spring. As the coaches themselves will tell you, the groundwork for many scholarships has been laid at this camp, and spots fill up very quickly.
This year’s camp will be composed of three (3) separate divisions:
-The
Midget Camp will be held from Friday, May 18
th through Sunday, May 20
th for players born in 2001, 2002 and 2003, who will be divided amongst four (4) teams. Each team will play three (3) games, and have one team practice. Additional positional practices will be held for forwards and defenseman separately. All participants in the
Midget Camp and their families may also attend the NCAA Coaches panel to learn crucial information on the recruitment process.
-The
Bantam Camp is open to players born in 2004 and 2005 and will run from Friday, May 18t
h, through Sunday, May 20
th.
Bantam Camp participants will have practices and games led entirely by NCAA Division I coaches. All players and their families can attend the NCAA Coaches panel to begin educating themselves on the college hockey recruiting and scholarship process. The
Bantam Camp is limited to two (2) teams who will play two (2) games and have two (2) practices.
-The
Goalie Camp will be held on Saturday, May 19
th and Sunday, May 20
th for all goalies born from 2001 through 2005. The
Goalie Camp will be led by coach David Lassonde, a member of USA Hockey’s prestigious Warren Strelow Goalie Mentoring Program.
All games and practices will be coached by current NCAA coaches.
Currently confirmed to attend this year’s camp include: Mike Gibbons (St. Cloud), David Lassonde (Dartmouth), Kevin Patrick (Vermont), Brian Wiseman (Michigan), Brent Brekke (Miami), Alex Hicks (ASU), RJ Enga (Colorado College), and Brett Larson (Minnesota-Duluth). Additional coaches will be added pending confirmation of their schedules. As in all prior years, we expect 10 different NCAA Division 1 schools to be represented.This camp draws players from all over California, the western United States, and Western Canada, and spots fill quickly. While there are many local camps each spring, this is the only one where players are actually coached in practices and games by NCAA coaches.
